Carpenter
FIELD
The Carpenter position is responsible for maintaining and constructing objects, structures and buildings of varying sizes and applications. Duties include setting forms for foundations; installing floor joists and sub-floors; framing walls; setting roof trusses and rafters; installing roof sheathing, siding, windows and exterior doors; installing wallboard, interior doors, cabinets, millwork, hardware and finish products.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute high quality work

Read and understand blueprints, sketches and building plans

Conform to local building codes
-
Have knowledge of construction materials and hardware and their applications

Use hand, power and air tools and equipment
-
Direct laborers as needed
-
Perform general laborer work when needed

Keep work areas in a safe and clean condition
-
Be safety conscious at all times; report unsafe conditions immediately

Ensure tools, safety equipment and safety kits are maintained and accounted for

Lift, carry, push, pull weights in excess of 100 pounds

As directed by Project Superintendent, General Superintendent, Project Manager

Accurately complete and turn in paperwork to a Project Foreman or Project Superintendent on a timely basis
REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma preferred

Knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools and equipment

Own carpenter hand tools
-
Initiative, dependable, motivated, productive

Skills in oral communications
-
Able to work independently and as a team player
